Eco Printing - Online Class With Anna Meier - 3rd & 10th September

£60.00

Tuesday 3rd & Tuesday 10th September 4-6pm BST (Check your time zone)

Join us for a two session online workshop on the fundamentals of eco-printing. Eco-printing is a contact printing method where plants are placed onto a textile and then heated to set the print. There are many different ways to ecoprint, and many different plants and substrates that can be used. This class will offer an overview of the basics, including equipment and supplies, fiber choices, mordanting, plant collecting, how to print with and without a barrier, ways to set the print, troubleshooting faint prints, and how to care for your eco-printed pieces. The first session will focus on the step-by-step process and the second session will go more in depth into the variables of fibre, mordant, and plant choices. A PDF with the mordant recipes will be available for workshop participants as well.

After the live session, a recording will be available to stream for two months.

Anna Meier is an artist, earth witch, and professor who works primarily with natural and foraged materials. Anna was first introduced to natural dyes while studying fibers at the Oregon College of Art and Craft. After graduating with her MFA in sculpture at the University of Miami she began to dive deeper into the world of natural dyeing and eco-printing, and fell in love with the process of foraging and growing the materials she worked with. One of her main passions is passing on what she has learned so far to others who are called to work with the earth too. www.annacarolynmeier.com
